Introduction
Welcome to QRBlitz (“the App”). Appixer Technologies respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it.
QRBlitz is designed with a local-first privacy model. This means that your scan history, custom QR code creations, and settings stay stored locally on your device. We do not operate a remote server backend that collects, tracks, or stores your scans or personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what data the App accesses, how third-party services (such as Google AdMob) handle data for advertising, and what rights you have under applicable privacy laws (including GDPR, CCPA, and Google Play Developer Policies).
Local-first data storage
- No account required. You do not need to register, log in, or provide personal credentials to use QRBlitz.
- No backend server collection. Your scanned QR codes, generated barcodes, search history, and favorite items remain strictly on your device using local device storage (SharedPreferences or a local database).
- No telemetry or custom analytics. QRBlitz does not ship custom analytics SDKs or track your personal usage habits.
Device permissions
QRBlitz requests minimum system permissions solely to enable features you ask for on your device.
Camera (android.permission.CAMERA)
- Purpose
- Required to scan QR codes and barcodes in real time.
- Data handling
- Video frames are processed live on your device. Video frames are never recorded, saved, or uploaded to any server.
Photos, media, and storage (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)
- Purpose
- Required when you choose a photo from your gallery to scan for barcodes.
- Data handling
- Images are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted externally.
Write storage / save to gallery (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)
- Purpose
- Required to export and save created QR code images to your device gallery.
- Data handling
- Saved directly to your local media library.
Contacts (flutter_contacts)
- Purpose
- Optional. Used when saving a scanned vCard or contact directly to your phone’s address book.
- Data handling
- Interacts only with your local system Contacts app via standard Android and iOS system intents.
Vibration / haptics (VIBRATE)
- Purpose
- Provides tactile feedback when a QR code is successfully scanned.
- Data handling
- Hardware feature trigger only. No data is generated.

Advertising and Google AdMob
To keep QRBlitz free for all users, the App integrates Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements, including banner, interstitial, native, rewarded, and app open ads.
Data collected by Google AdMob
Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process certain data automatically for ad delivery, fraud prevention, frequency capping, and ad reporting:
- Device identifiers. Android Advertising ID (AAID) and IDFA.
- IP address. Used for coarse location (country or city level) to serve relevant ads.
- Diagnostic and performance data. Ad response times, crash logs, and interaction metrics.
Consent (Google User Messaging Platform)
- EEA and UK users (GDPR). Before serving ads, QRBlitz presents Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form to users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the UK. You can choose whether to grant consent for personalized ads, non-personalized ads, or ad measurement cookies.
- Managing consent. You can manage or revoke your advertising choices at any time in the App’s Settings screen, or through Android system settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset or delete advertising ID.
For more details on how Google uses data, visit Google Privacy & Terms for Advertising.
Links and other apps
When you act on a scanned QR code (for example, opening a website, placing a call, sending an email, or opening a map location), QRBlitz opens the default app on your device using standard system intents.
Once you leave QRBlitz to open an external app or website, your interactions are governed by that third party’s privacy policy.
Data retention and deletion
Because your data is stored locally on your device:
- Deleting items. You can delete individual scan entries or clear your entire scan history at any time inside the App (History → Clear all).
- Complete data removal. Uninstalling QRBlitz permanently deletes all local history, preferences, and saved files created by the App from your device.
Children’s privacy
QRBlitz is a general audience application intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through third-party ad networks, contact us at contact@appixer.com so we can assist.
GDPR and CCPA
European Economic Area and UK (GDPR)
- Legal basis for processing. Processing of local scan data is based on performance of features you request. Ad-related processing is based on your explicit consent gathered via the UMP consent dialog.
- Your rights. Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, or restrict processing of your data, and to withdraw ad consent at any time.
California (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not sell your personal information. Third-party ad partners (Google AdMob) may process device identifiers for cross-context behavioral advertising, subject to your opt-out preferences.
Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect your privacy. Because QRBlitz keeps scan data on your device and does not maintain a server database of user scans, that data is protected by your device’s operating system security (for example, PIN, fingerprint, or encryption).
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in app features or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
